Teams lose money only when you count the actual dollars changed hands around that game.
I think of DI Football as advertisement, If you make it to a bowl game you are paying for very cheap advertising in my opinion. If you only lose 50k on a national televised event, did you really lose 50k?
By the way, when I had dinner with Simmons a couple of months ago that was exactly his arguement for the cost of College athletics. Many think that DI sports have too much money spent on them, I think it's all about getting your image out onto the national stage and increasing your alumni support. When you look at it like that then DI athletics are a bargain.

Sounds like Dr. Simmons wants Lamar to go FBS. I feel good about Lamar's chances of joining the WAC. A bowl game in San Antonio or New Orleans would be well attended by Lamar fans in my opinion.
