I wouldn't be too surprised if the score is that close. The team will probably be suffering from jet lag, and playing against a weaker opponent, the defense my let up a little. Massey Ratings has Lamar winning 21-3. I bet we see a lot of the reserves in this game.

My pick:
Lamar 45 Langston 3 (the 3 is for charity)

"D" will play lights out and we should control the line of scrimmage. Sims and Garrett should have big game. LU should win next week too

Nick Canizales ‏@NickCanizales Lamar's opponent, #Langston (https://twitter.com/search/?src=hash&q=%23Langston), is 1-2 on the year. They are coached by former #Nebraska (https://twitter.com/search/?src=hash&q=%23Nebraska) QB Mickey Joseph. Coming off 37-7 loss at Saint Xavier

Nick Canizales ‏@NickCanizales
#Lamar (https://twitter.com/search/?src=hash&q=%23Lamar) Head Coach Ray Woodard's 9 wins are tied for 2nd best two year start in Lamar history for a head coach

Christopher Dabe ‏@cmdabe
@NickCanizales (https://twitter.com/NickCanizales) Check that, seven. The point remains.

I dont think vegas gives much of a thought to LU vs lu

I will take langston and your 61 points, tho...for a cyber-dollar!I dont think woodard, (if he has a choice) would hang 61 on em...he knows all to well how that feels

LU 45 lu-13

I've noticed that all our Sam and SFA friends don't care to make a prediction since we should win this game, but they were quick to come here when we were playing Hawaii and they were confident we would lose!!!

I'll go with 45-0 LU

And were we wrong on the result?
If Lamar scores less than 30, then Woodard should start looking for new jobs.

Haha. I tuned in around the 2nd quarter when Lamar was up only 14-0. That's embarrassing against an NAIA school. Those games should be minimum 40+ wins. To only be up 17-0 (right?) at half? Yikes! Even Nicholls stomped their NAIA school

JJ did you watch the game? If you watched it you would have seen Lamar run extremely basic plays all night. Runs up the middle and swing passes. There were very few shots down the Field. I agree the score should have been more, but I am satisfied with this result. We won easily without showing anything for next weeks conference opener. BTW that was a great game yesterday for SHSU lol.

I did watch the game from the 2nd quarter until mid-4th quarter.

Regardless of the offensive gameplan, Lamar still punted SEVEN times and only ran for 88 yards the entire game. The portion of the game I saw included a handful of 3-and-outs. Regardless of the outcome, unacceptable against NAIA competition. Hopefully the guys can turn it up next week to start conference play.

I agree with JJ, a good team should put up at lease twice as many points then we did. I understand that our game plan was basic but we didn't play well at times running those basic plays.

At the end of the day, it's a win. Hopefully they don't get hung up on winning at home and can come out strong next week for SLC play because it won't be as "easy" as Langston.
