"He's a stud. Very good quickness and vision. Top end speed is legit as evidenced by his 99-yard TD run in the playoffs last year against Jesuit. Probably the best RB to come through Longview since McGee and Ivory back around 05 in my opinion. I think Lamar got them a good one. Probably would have been more highly recruited had he not split time with older kids his Jr year, but I would not complain as a Lamar fan or alum. Hopefully he pans out better than the last few Longview RBs in college."

had some JUCO/transfer OL's coming in and have some OL redshirt freshmen from coming back from last season. Hunter Conn looks to be a good HS OL get for Lamar.

I really like the two defensive linemen we've signed so far. I think Tebo projects really well with his size.

I feel the same about Hunter Conn. Love his size.

Is Carranco on scholarship? It seems like we have a bunch of kickers on scholarship for an FCS school.

Sad to hear about Fisk. I have seen him play a couple games and thought he could play DB for us real easily. Why are all these PA Memorial kids going all the way to Morgan State? I just don't get it.

Another great RB class. I love White, Harrington, and Raleigh!

I love the versatility of the rest of the class. A lot of players who can play several positions.

Hope we can keep it going.

With the RB's we have coming back and the RB's recruited in this class, we really need to work on the run blocking in the OL and turn these guys loose. A great run game can open up the passing game, and maybe even Puddin will be happy? :D

Ray Woodard's press conference today was to announce his 2013 class, but some other news came out of it:

Redshirt junior receiver Kevin Johnson, who transferred from Oklahoma State, is suspended for a violation of team rules, Woodard announced. He said it is an in-house issue and Johnson will be granted a second chance to return, but he is suspended for now. Johnson led the Cards with 10 touchdown receptions last season
Spring football will begin March 18 with the Spring Game occurring April 16 at 7 p.m. Lamar will hold a scrimmage every Saturday between then at 10 a.m.
On defense, the Cards will stick to a 3-4 and Woodard said he has specifically recruited to this scheme
On offense, Woodard expressed a desire to throw the ball more. He picked up a pair of quarterbacks today including Central QB Robert Mitchell and speedy Judge Wolfe from Palmer, Texas.
Five of Lamar's recruits were JUCO transfers. Woodard said he would rather build his program on high school players and stray from those in junior college
Lamar is close to finishing its schedule for this year and is waiting on only a couple contracts to come through with other schools. Woodard wanted to be able to release it today, but it is not complete yet.

This Kade Harrington kid intrigues me...rushed for 1,944 yards and 22 TDs in only 9 games (216 yards/game and almost 2.5 TDs/game)...doing this in 5A ball while standing only 5'-7"...if our O-Line can get better off the ball then I think he becomes a dangerous weapon hiding behind them and sneaking through holes

I agree, Mike. It really looks like we got a nice crop of players. I hope the KJ thing resolves itself because I think he is a really good receiver but he seems to have some maturity issues. You complimented the coaches for doing a good job of recruitiing and that's true, now they need to do a good job of coaching them.
