It's being reported by ESPN that Adrian Peterson will miss the Vikings game Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. ESPN radio that is. According to NFL.com and ESPN.com Peterson missed practice on Thursday because he received news that his 2 year old son was in critical condition in a Sioux Falls hopital after being found unresponsive when police and an ambulance was called to the home of the mother of Peterson's son. The man, Joseph Patterson, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggrivated battery of an infant and aggrivated assualt domestic. Patterson is the boyfriend of the boy's mother who was not at home at the time. Patterson was in court today for a probable cause hearing over the incident.
AP was back at practice today and on ESPN SportCenter Update it was reported that Peterson will miss Sunday's game but the two web sites don't speculate on his availability for the game and I'm assuming he will play. Peterson's father Nelson Peterson told the St Paul Pioneer "We are asking for prayers and for respect for our family as we deal with this tragic situation."
