If you have around 14 minutes to spare, the link leads to an interesting video about Lamar and Energy.

I think Lamar's location in the middle of one of the most highly concentrated energy related areas in the country is a great advantage that should be nurtured. I see our location as a great advantage that can provide students with a hands-on experience in a major industry. It can provide a symbiotic relationship in its preparation of future graduates ultimately benefiting their employers.

Just looking at the Global Fortune 500 list, one can see a strong representation of companies with a significant presence in the area.
