The DE will be eligible to play this year. #TCU 's D takes a big hit. @newyscruggs: Devonte Fields was the @Big12Conference preseason DPOY for #TCU & ranked #12 @MelKiperESPN 2015 draft board. Twin Daddy Posted August 9, 2014 Share Posted August 9, 2014 Not so fast... apparently he's now backed out of the transfer, as TCU has suspended him for the year under their honor code and has refused to give him a transfer waiver. Per SFA, this would make him ineligible for the year--even at SFA. We'll see where this circus ends up... looks to me like he might not end up playing anywhere this year, although I have no idea how much "weight" a suspension is given from a transfer perspective, and whether it carries any kind of authority.
