It's about time. When I come into town I take 73 because the traffic really sucks on I10.
For people who like driving through large highway construction areas like Eastex Freeway and the Neches River (Purple Heart Memorial) Bridge, another one is on the way as the Texas Department of Transportation gets ready to expand Interstate 10 between Beaumont and Winnie.
At a regional transportation meeting Wednesday in Beaumont, Jeff Moseley, a member of the Texas Transportation Commission, said the state needs more highway capacity and more safety.
The expansion project could cost $280 million, but a start date isn't settled and the state hasn't awarded a contract yet.
