Cardinals' Chalk Talk for Women set for Aug. 29

BEAUMONT - Lamar University Athletics and State Farm Insurance will host a football chalk talk for women only Aug. 29 at noon at the LU Athletic Complex.

The two-hour event will cost $10 per person, including lunch, and will give ladies an inside peek into the world of college football. Coaches, athletic trainers and other special guest speakers will discuss the fundamentals of the game of football.

I must say I'm a huge fan of this idea. Any football game is almost split evenly in attendance by males and females, this is a great out reach to female fans.

This is just an example of the innovative ideas that you can sponsor when you have student groups like the EndZone Angels to provide the time and labor to host an event such as this.

I bet you'll be surprised at the number of women who will attend this event. The wife's of those trailgaters alone will be a lot.
