The three games in the Longwood MTE will give a strong indication of how the rest of the year may go. All three of the teams Lamar will face are ones that the Cardinals should compete well against. Coming off the loss at Pacific, how will the Cards handle the next close game. I read through the play by play of the end of that game and there appeared to be very similar traits in the last few minutes to several of last year's losses, but how did the Cards let an 18-point lead slip down to that point. Pacific was a true road loss and two of these three are neutral court games, so the home court advantage isn't an excuse. Tipoff for Lamar's first game is 4:30.

Lamar beat a team who had a 3-1 record prior to the game today. Nice win, Cardinals!

Yes, they were three and one, but their wins weren't against the quality of teams Lamar has played so far. Tomorrows game against Longwood will be a tougher test.

Nice solid win for the Cards. ESPN had BC a 11.5 favorite.
Glad to see Pryor have a great game - 6 for 6 from the field & 19 points.

One thing they need to improve on is blowing big leads in the second half. Fortunately last night BC wasn't able to catch LU but they did make a big run before LU put the game away.

Lamar will definitely have to play well. Longwood is coming off back to back 20 win seasons, with four returning starters.

Nine minutes into the Longwood game and Lamar is struggling to get off good shots. Ball movement isn't where it needs to be with forced shots. Longwood up 19-10

Lamar down by fourteen with 3:32 left in the first half. Turnovers and free throw percentage hurting the Cards. 34-20

We'll see if LU can turn the tables in the second half and make a big comeback and win. I'm afraid this team can only beat bottom feeder teams.

Lamar down 45-30 at the half. Longwood getting to the basket and scoring. Lamar offense somewhat stagnate, with turnovers and below average shooting percentage. Shot selection.

Lamar falls by eleven, 83-72. Cardinals trailed by as many as twenty-six in the second half, before closing the gap. Cardinals couldn't stop Longwood in a man to man, but switched to a 1-3-1 zone which seemed to keep Longwood from getting as many open looks and Lamar was able to start really pressing getting two five second calls on Longwood trying to get the ball in bounds. Biggest positive of this game was that Lamar never quit.

We will see if Lamar can come back and play a solid game tomorrow against Delaware St which took Longwood to two overtimes Friday.

Any idea why Hamilton only played 14 minutes?

I think he was just having an off day. Didn't shoot well from the field or the line. Longwood seemed to fluster him early.

part of the game I watched, he clunked a couple free throws, along with an air ball. And he was getting owned on both ends of the court. Their big guy was living rent free in Hamiltons head.

Cards by six at the half. 40-34. Lamar shooting 50% from the field in the first half. Lamar needs to pick up the defense on Robinson in the second half.

Headed to overtime. Lamar should have already won, but they still haven't learned how to take care of the ball, and to many times take bad shots at critical times.

Wish the Cardinals had played better but the team probably got more out of winning a close game.

Four LU players in double figures scoring with two scoring nine.

LU made 14 3-pointers in the game so it's surprising they didn't win big. But they win 2 of 3 on the road to go 4-3 on season. Not bad considering how bad they were last year.

Looks like Lamar has reclassified Hamilton from a senior to a junior. Meaning, the Cardinals only have one senior on the ball club!

They added two really good players in the early signing period.

If Coach Brooks can be successful this year, next year could be special.
