The lesson from Saturday's loss is simple for the Lamar University football team.
"It shows where we need to be," sophomore center Kyle Gillam said after the Cardinals (1-1) lost 30-8 at South Alabama. "We're going to come out (today) and correct everything."
The last chance to make corrections before Southland Conference play begins at 7 p.m. Saturday at home against the University of the Incarnate Word (1-1), an NCAA Division II school in San Antonio.
Incarnate Word's coach is former Lamar assistant Mike Santiago.
