    Re: 2014-2015 Men's Schedule

I agree with a balanced schedule in which we play teams in D1 that we are competitive with. I also think that if we want to have a realistic shot at the tournament we need to play some tough teams so...
  2. Re: FCS Conference Scheduling Alliances - Would they work?

What I've been hearing up here in Austin is that the super conferences (Big 12, Big 10, PAC 12, ACC, and AAC) wants to form a super conference separate from the NCAA and shut out the Sun Belts WACs...

    Re: Congratulations to Coach Price

Guys, this is a rebuilding effort now. Hillard was inconstant at best, which actually describes the team. I think Coach Price has made some improvements and who knows, maybe we can get back to where...

    Re: 12 Seed

Congrats to SFA. This is right in line with a post I made on another thread about a program winning >25 wins and a seeding in the NCAA higher than 14. This is formula for ongoing success. It makes...
  5. Re: Will somebody post something about football..........

Look at Texas...I believe that there are going be some departures from the team before spring practice is over. He has dismissed two from the team for violation of team rules. I think there will be...
  6. Re: 3:00PM Press Conference Tuesday---Tic Price New Head Hoops Coach

After watching the press conference - so I'm late - I'm willing to give him a fair shake. He's got nowhere to go but up. He has proven that he can win, but will the current players completely buy...
  7. Re: 3:00PM Press Conference Tuesday---Tic Price New Head Hoops Coach

Hopefully there's a moral clause in his contract.....

Seriously, this 'coaching search' was a sham. I don't know what was revealed behind the scenes, but it wouldn't surprise me if Roc returned as...
  8. Re: 3:00PM Press Conference Tuesday

If Price is picked, I will give him a chance. He is a good coach, it might work. Not my choice, but I will wait and see.
  9. Re: West column: No shortage of interest in LU basketball job

Let's start this from scratch, this can't get any worse.

A lots of talented young coaches are out there and I think they would have the drive, dedication, and energy to get this program back to...

Re: Who should be the new coach?

I think the fans are loyal, but we want to see the best team we can field. I do not favor keeping Price or any coach currently on the staff. We need to start fresh with a new philosophy and energy....

Re: Who should be the new coach?

Instead of retreads, LU should give a good assistant at a major conference team who wants to be a head coach. (like the Baylor assistant). If we are to win like the big boys we need to get someone...

Re: Who should be the new coach?

If Larry Brown at 69 can resurrect SMU - who never was a basketball power, I'm sure that we can find a pretty good coach some where. PJ Carlissimo anybody????

Sampson is a good coach, just keep him off the cell lol

Who should be the new coach?

We can talk about PK until we're blue in the face. I think we need to move forward. Who, in your opinion would you like to see as head coach? Maybe look down the road at LSC-PA; I think he deserves a...

    Re: PAT KNIGHT FIRED

As much as I thought he would get one more year, it had to be done. However I think that this program is 2-3 years away before it can be good enough to have a winning record. Reading this board, it...
  17. Re: West column: Lamar foolish if it lets Knight finish season

If you replace Knight, at least get a coach who can recruit and has D1 experience. Maybe off the staff of Tom Izzo, Coach K, or John Thompson III. Yeah I know I'm aiming high, but why shouldn't we...
  18. Re: West column: Lamar foolish if it lets Knight finish season

All of the above comments I agree with, but lets get real. There's a lot of frustration from all ends - coach, team and fans. True, the football program started from scratch and had a bigger mountain...

    Re: Next Year's men's team

Big T, I have seen most of the games I can from long distance. Starters are adequate, albeit woefully inconsistent. There is absolutely NO help from the bench, No git-after-it as far as rebounding, a...

  21. Re: West column: Lamar foolish if it lets Knight finish season

As much as a train wreck this is, I think he should get at least one more year. It took the football team about three years to get close to competitive, so I think he should get one more year. If it...

    Re: Next Year's men's team

Coaches like to get players who fit their philosophy, so this might take awhile. The players Roc recruited should have fit his system, but IMO he did not coach them up to be successful. If Pat Knight...

    Re: Next Year's men's team

I think that we forget that we had two players who were underclassmen dismissed off the team from last year who, if they had not flunked out, would've made a big difference. We would have had an...

    Re: Instilling Discipline

Do you guys think Strong was a good hire? My gut reaction was that it was a bad hire.

I believe it was a good hire. He's been under Urban Meyer and Lou Holtz, A pretty good DC and he did well...

    Re: Instilling Discipline

There was a culture of entitlement at Texas, and Mack Brown couldn't control any of it. Strong is coming in to shape up and put the team on a better footing on the field and off the field. He's...
