Per the last post on the recruiting thread and the NCAA rules Dodd has to be official on staff in some position. Also makes sense that a kid he was already recruiting would follow him.
I see on the recruiting thread that Shultz is making home visits with prospects, do you know if any of the old assistants are still with him or is he following up on recruits that were already on the...
What I interpreted from Shultz comments at halftime of the basketball game on espn3 he is approaching the team and the coaching staff as each coach and player is as if they are a new hire or recruit....
I'm glad he is placing emphasis on the importance of defense. I understand his history is on the offensive side of the game but so many first time HC's don't recognize the importance of the other...
Success gets copied, but there's more than one way to skin a cat. 4-2-5, 4-3, 3-4 is just semantics. It gives you a clue about body types you'll try and recruit, but it doesn't really tell you...
With the time that Schultz spent at TCU with Patterson, I would imagine he knows how to open up an offense. The questions become does he have the players with the skills he needs to play the style...
The nine years at Jacksonville was a good stay and it sounds as though the school wouldn't or couldn't make an incremental step that he would have stayed for. But one year successes aren't...
Yes I did mean Bell. Did he try for other FCS or FBS schools last year before going to Voldosta? If he comes to LU and produces a winner will he be looking immediately for the next jump? Granted I...
Hall sounds intriguing but why take the Valdosta job and then the next year go looking for an FCS school? I understand wanting to get somewhere that has scholarships, but why step down a division...
Not a bad resume, but it appears he has followed successful coaches at successful programs. I would be more impressed if he had turned a program around. Hopefully if he becomes the choice he'll...
Nothing personal toward Mr. Peveto, but the last thing Lamar needs is a coach that was fired from an SLC school, even if it were from one of the past two or three champions.
There are plenty of individual players on Class 4,5 and 6A high schools that could come in and start at Lamar or any other FCS schools, but that is nowhere close to every member of any of those high...
If Keeler at Sam is making about $250k and ACU is supposedly putting up about the same amount for their next coach does anyone expect LU to really get someone decent for the ~$175k range that Woodard...
If we hire from within they should have kept Woodard and saved a $100G. I don't think I've ever heard of a loosing program hiring from within. After all the coach you fired hired the replacement.
The administration should be asking questions at this point of Henderson. I think at most schools the AD makes the coaching decisions but the AD works for the President and it doesn't make sense...
Bad:
No tradition of winning
Unfortunately eliminates at least part of what you are looking for such as
- recent track record (at least as a head coach)
- a young hungry coach somewhere...
