Teams lose money only when you count the actual dollars changed hands around that game. I think of DI Football as advertisement, If you make it to a bowl game you are paying for very cheap advertising in my opinion. If you only lose 50k on a national televised event, did you really lose 50k? By the way, when I had dinner with Simmons a couple of months ago that was exactly his arguement for the cost of College athletics. Many think that DI sports have too much money spent on them, I think it's all about getting your image out onto the national stage and increasing your alumni support. coachacola Posted March 4, 2011 Share Posted March 4, 2011 Sounds like Dr. Simmons wants Lamar to go FBS. I feel good about Lamar's chances of joining the WAC.
