The Lamar Verbal Commits page shows an offer out to 2* 6'3" guard Gregg Kacprzak from Parkland, Florida. Shows he was offered on 9-12-13 under the old staff so I don't know if Price is honoring those offers or not.

We have to wait and see if this talent is going to pan out on the court or not, but so far Tic Price has done a hell of a job on paper. I am beyond impressed by what he has been doing on the recruiting trail and the wonders he has been able to work in the local community by foraging bonds with the local HS and AAU coaches. That is something that Knight never bothered to do.

The inroads being made with local talent by Tic and his staff are impressive.Sometimes one local recruit can be the key to attracting others he is close too.Much like Dwayne Wade helped with James and Parsons helped with Howard. That is beginning to happen with some of the area talent and it should help us greatly in the eyes of future recruits who want to play with their AAU friends for the Cards .

That is one of the biggest things to do when you are trying to build a program or trying to bringing it back to where it should be, is start bringing in the local talent, because the big boys can't get them all, and then fan out as the need arises, or if you have a contact with a kid!!!!! But Coach Price and his staff is doing it exactly the way they are suppose too!!!!!!!

Go Lamar!!!!!!!!!!!

Mamadu Kamara is a 6'10" center from Katy with offers from Creighton, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. Chris Harris is also a 6'10" 3-star center according to Yahoo! Sports.

John Eurey just told me that (ex TAMU pledge) Chris Harris is seriously thinking of committing to head coach Tic Price (Lamar University)!

I don't know what Tic is saying to these kids but he seems like a hell of a recruiter...I mean kids with major offers are strongly considering Lamar...only issue is we don't have many scholarships left

With Tic Price getting these kids interested in LU makes Pat Knight's comments about not being able to recruit players to Lamar seem ridiculous. With 4 seniors on the team this upcoming season means Price can sign 3 more players if Chatman keeps his commitment to LU.

You're right about Bosha, he'll take one of those scholarships in 2015. With 3 big guys graduating next year it appears Price is concentrating on signing 3 more big guys to replace them. Price could potentially sign 3 inside players all with 3 or 4 stars, that would definitely be a monster signing class!

More on Nick Garth from the In The Cards blog:

It’s worth mentioning that the Houston Hoops AAU connection is there, as Garth is teammates on the summer circuit with fellow 2015 Lamar pledge Dorian Chatman of PA Memorial. Local standouts E’Torrion Wildridge and Jordan Hunter are also on that team.
