coachacola
The video clip is from kfdm.com and has a drawing of the new building. This is going to be the main entrance to LU and it's going to look very nice!! "It will sit right across from the baseball field and right across the street will be this new innovation building, that will reflect colonial architect and in the center of Rolfe Christopher will be this archway so it will be literally the gateway to campus," said Lamar University President Dr. Kenneth Evans. The groundbreaking for the new softball complex is also expected in the next few weeks. http://kfdm.com/shared/news/top-stories/stories/kfdm_vid_11023.shtml

KABrother88
I like it...reminds me of some of the old southern university buildings like at Ole Miss and some of the Carolina/Virgina schools. Is this going across Jim Gilligan Way from V-B on the lot where the old Brooks-Shivers Hall was or across Rolfe-Christopher from V-B? LUSportsFan
We saw the Spaw Glass sign a couple of weeks ago on our last "Beaumont run". It looks like the new administration building will be a nice addition. This article from the Beaumont Enterprise might answer some of the questions. http://www.beaumontenterprise.com/news/education/article/LU-says-goodbye-to-Brooks-Shivers-5413983.php http://www.beaumontenterprise.com/default/article/Lamar-hoping-to-add-front-door-to-campus-4823996.php

Mark
All the more reason to attempt to move the electric substation and concrete plant. Those eye sores will take away from the impact of the new gateway.
