Composite Football Rankings

I've said it before and I'll say it again...the FCS poll is a MVC and "those other guys" poll. I think almost the whole conference is ranked. They lose to each other, no biggee. The loser of SELA/McN will probably drop out of the rankings....while Sam, the " other guy" the pollsters have heard of is ranked 11th and playing like crap.

What did you expect? Lamar has no history as a high quality program and failed to prove the SHSU victory wasn't a fluke. Lamar need not worry about the rankings, only winning.

 

Didn't say I was surprised. Just seems like a big drop considering how close the game was and that SHSU is ranked so high. And obviously Lamar needs to focus on winning. That is kinda a MOTO statement

Early on in the composite this week (11 rankings in)Lamar is checking in at #27...others notables are McNeese at #14, SHSU at #28, UCA at #34 and SELA at #35

When is our next game that will really make a difference in the polls. I am thinking we don't move much next week no matter how much we win by.

This week's game won't have much positive impact unless Kade goes bonkers again then we might get a slight boost. A loss would be devastating however.

 

The next game is against UCA who is only 5 spots behind us but they play McNeese this week. If they beat McNeese then they will more thank likely shoot way up before they come to town...if McNeese wins, obviously UCA's drop would depend on what the final score looked like. Either way the UCA game will be the next one to help but after that we have HBU, Nicholls, and UIW before we get McNeese...those 3 won't help much at all but it would set up nicely to potentially have fresher guys come the McNeese game.

 

But we just need to handle our business this week and see what next week brings.
