Lamar at Sam Houston Game Thread

First half is in the books and Lamar is down by 7. The Cards were down by 13 early but fought back to tie the game at 37 but then Sam responded with a three pointer and went on to push out to a seven point lead 48 - 41.

Final Sam 94 LU 76 This season is over for the Cards, thank goodness, as this team has never been able to really turn the corner. In too many of the games Lamar had multiple fatal flaws, poor shot selection, turnovers and poor defense. LU played fairly well in the early non-conference games and it looked like they would improve on last years record but then conference play started and reality set in. Teams in the SLC exploited Lamar's weaknesses and over the course of the year the Cards really never put a game together where they demonstrated that they were improving on their weaknesses. The one real positive I will say is that the core of the team is Freshman and through it all they played hard to the end of every game. Hope next year some more people who read and post on this board will show more enthusiasm about the basketball program.
