Lamar Baseball (12-10) played Northwestern State (5-14) in a non-conference matchup Wednsday night and doubled up the Demons 12-6.

Leading the way offensively were Cutter McDowell and Robin Adames. McDowell went 3-5 with 4 RBI. All 3 of his hits went for doubles.
Adames also went 3-5 with all three hits going for extra bases (2 doubles and a HR) and knocked in 3 runs. His HR was his 3 on the season, all of which have come in the last 4 games. The 3-5 performance also pushed his average to a team leading .385.

On the bump we saw more of what we have seen mid-week all season with 7 pitchers making an appearance and non throwing more than 2 innings. Galen Andrews got the start and pitched 2 innings giving up 2 runs on 3 hits (all in the first inning) but struck out 5 of the 10 batters he faced. One surprise was to see Jace Campbell and Tanner Driskell make appearances out of the bullpen. Campbell, who has been the Sunday starter this year, pitched the 8th and allowed no hits and 1 walk with strikeout. Driskell, who has been the Friday night starter, pitched a perfect 9th with 1 strikeout.

The Cards welcome Incarnate Word (13-9) this weekend as they return to conference play.
