    What happens to the scholarships?

Someone had posted a list of players, that were no longer on the team, but had eligibility left. Do the ex-players keep the scholarships, do the scholarships go back into the available pile, or do the scholarships go to the one and done pile?

Re: What happens to the scholarships?

Sometimes if a player has to quit playing for medical reasons they can be awarded a medical scholarship that doesn’t count against the actual football number. If the player left on his own then the amount of money he was to be awarded for future seasons goes back into the pool. I use the term pool because essentially at the FCS level that’s what it is...you get 63 scholarships to divy out however you see fit...whether it be full or partial scholarships vs FBS getting 85 fulls.

Unless something changed recently sports like men's basketball only can use full scholarships while sports like baseball and track can use partial scholarships.Sports that use partial scholarships used to by NCAA rule have more lenient outside part time job rules so those athletes could make more extra money to supplement their partial scholarships.
