    Lamar at Duquesne

Game time is 6:00 PM Central. Duquesne is a member of the Atlantic - 10 Conference and currently has a seven and three win loss record. The A-10 is perceived as a stronger conference when it comes to tournament seeding. Other more well known names in the A-10 are VCU, George Mason, Dayton and Davidson. The quality of wins for Duquesne compared to Lamar are not obvious. Expect a good game and hope for a W.

At the under twelve minute timeout in the first half and Lamar is up by six at 13-7. Lamar has four fouls to this point and appear to be playing the most aggressive defense I have seen them play so far this year.

Halftime and LU is down by three points. Although LU has played very aggressive man to man defense and has kept Duquesne's field goal percentage just under 30%, LU has committed 16 fouls with seven players with two fouls each. Duquesne is out rebounding Lamar by twelve and LU only has two offensive rebounds. Weisbrod sat out at least the last four minutes. Lamar also shot extremely poorly from the free throw line shooting just 46% and many of those misses were on one and one opportunities which if the percentage were up just a little would be more than enough for LU to be in the lead instead of down.

Very disappointing loss for Lamar. Cards were up by seven with approximately two minutes left and fail to execute on offense. Duquesne hit two three pointer in the final two minutes including the game winner which was a well contested shot and the offensive player was off balance when the ball left his hand. Free throw shooting ultimately cost the Cards the game although they did not even shoot a free throw in the last two minutes.

People are taking too many ill advised shots. There is too much one on one basketball being played. They do well when they have good ball movement, but they live and die by the 3 pt shot. The guards need to work on their mid range jumper. Noel needs to be reeled in. He is out of control.

Glad you pointed out Noel being out of control. The point guard play for Lamar and as you said the mid range shooting are definitely weaknesses. Atwood is improving but also has a tendency to try and do to much at times.

I agree with your assessment of Atwood.
