Lamar Men at ACU

Lamar takes on an ACU team with an identical record as the Cards both overall and in conference. The teams haven't played the exact same opponents to this point but ACU got a win at UCA while the Cards lost to UCA at home and ACU lost at Corpus where the Cards got a victory, so with that this should be a very tough game.

Halftime and LU is down by four at 36-32. Lamar failed to get a field goal over the last three minutes of the half and poor free throw shooting cost the Cards the lead at the end of the half. Lamar was ahead for about eighteen minutes of the first half. Last year LU was ahead by nine at the half and lost the game on a last second shot, so maybe with them having had a no offense period here at the end of the first half they can make a solid come back in the second half. Overall fouls are about even with LU having committed eight fouls and ACU committing 10. As stated Lamar is 6-12 from the free throw line, with Bosha missing four of them. Lamar is leading in rebounds.

On the women's side Lamar is up by three over ACU who is sitting one game back of the ladies in the conference standings. Good tight game as it should be with two of the top teams in the conference.

First four minutes of the second half and LU continues its shooting slump and are down by seven at the media timeout.

At the under four minute time out Lamar is still down by seven, but have been within two points at least three time. Just haven't been able to score consistently.

Lamar drops the game with a five point loss. Unlike Lamar, ACU makes their free throws down the stretch. This is at least the third conference game Lamar has lost at the free throw line. Weisbrod twisted an ankle at the end of the first half and only played about three minutes of the second half. Don't know if he would have made a difference as he was fairly ineffective in the first half ending the game with just four points and two rebounds in 21 minutes of playing time.
