LU BB versus Nicholls

Lamar men have played a solid game so far in the first half and are up by 10 at 40-30 with 2:10 left in the first half. Ladies are up 22-17 after the first quarter in Beaumont.

End of the first half and LU is up by thirteen at 45-32. Not sure where this LU team has been, Cards shoot 56% from the field, make four of five at the free throw line, virtually double up Nicholls on the boards and only had five turn overs. Nzeakor does have two fouls and Sullivan has three for five of the six LU fouls. Cards have had the best ball movement offensively that I've seen all year against any of their D-1 opponents.

Lady Cards are up 48-29 at the half. Another strong outing so far by the ladies.

Thirteen minutes left in the game and LU lead has shrunk to six point. A turnover and couple of scores for Nicholls. LU is not shooting as well in the second half.

End of the third quarter and the Lady Cards are up 64-48. At the under twelve minute timeout men appear to have slowed the Nicholls run and are back to a seven point lead.

With 6:10 left in the game the men have extended the lead to thirteen points at 73-60. Men continue to play with high energy and are getting the ball into Nzeakor for layups.

3:49 left in the game and LU is up by twenty at the under four minute timeout. Ladies are up 74-61 with 2:10 left in their game.

Ladies win 78-65. Crump led the scoring for LU with 22 points followed by Kinard with 21.

Men get their most impressive win of the year 90-69. Not sure where this performane came from but, finally an enjoyable game to watch. LU shoots 54% from the field and make 25 of 27 free throws. Lamar out rebounded Nicholls 39-25. The Cards committed just nine turnovers on the night which is less than the average for the first half alone on most nights. Barrett had 17- points and twelve rebounds. Nzeakor lead all scorers with 26 point.

Another big stat was free throws. Lamar attempted 27 FTs and Nicholls only shot 4. With a 24 made FTs Lamar had a 20 point advantage on FTs alone. Lamar dominated the paint with Barrett and Nzeakor playing a complete game.
