Ladies do a Bad News Bears in the bottom of 7th. Lose to utsa

Unbelievable, they blew a 5 run lead with 2 out in the bottom of the 7th inning.

So much of softball is about pitching and Lamar didn't have enough last year and so far, doesn't appear to have it this year either.

hooks has had plenty of time to get an arm here. I think aresco is pitching coach. He needs to work some magic. Our 5th year senior has an era over 14. Our tranfer from Charlotte has an era over 7.

Softball got its second win on Sunday 11-7 versus UTSA. Lamar plays two games Tuesday at SFA before going for another weekend of higher tier competition.

Cardinals split their doubleheader with SFA. Maybe their not quite as soft as first appeared, but pitching is still suspect.

Ladies travel to Florida for tourney, thru Saturday, 0 and 4, outscored 30-3, outhit 44-14

 

2 losses to number 6 Florida State. 2 blowouts to teams that shouldnt blow us out, Troy and FGCU

Softball finishes the weekend with a 2-0 win over UTA and win four of five games. Lamar plays at Sam Houston Wednesday, before beginning conference play Friday at Northwestern State.

Lamar falls in mid-week game with Sam Houston. Ladies will open conference play this weekend, so we will quickly find out if the tough non-conference schedule helps or if the pitching is just not good enough yet.

Cards drop two to sela. Good news, we out hit them both games. Bad new, along with getting smacked, LU left a total of 17 runners on base.

i think a loss like this is ground for immediate termination.

Ladies fall 5-4 in eight innings at Nicholls in Game 1 of the weekend series. Can't blame it all on pitching but Lamar pitching isn't keeping the other schools off base.

Agree, but the crazy thing is LU best pitcher has set a record for most career strikeouts.
