2023 Baseball at McNeese

Cards drop game one. Pitching again. Cards gave up four runs in the fourth on two walks and two home runs with two outs.

Lamar takes a three run lead in the fourth only to give up two runs in the bottom of the inning and two more in the sixth to fall again.

Cards bats salvage game three. After getting out to a three-run lead in the first, the Cards allowed McNeese to come back with three runs in the third to tie the game. The two teams each scored a run in the fifth. Lamar got two runs in the sixth but gave up one run to take a 6-5 lead into the seventh. Cards held the one run lead into the bottom of the eighth before giving up three runs to fall behind 8-6 beginning the top of the ninth. The bats come through this time getting four runs to take a 10-8 lead. You would think that would be enough, but Lamar pitching just can't have a one, two three inning. McNeese gets one run in the bottom of the ninth to make it close before leaving the bases loaded to end the game.

I just do not see Lamar doing much in the SLC Tournament this year if they even make it. They do not have the pitching depth to win in a tournament setting.
