Important series for the Cards to at least take two of three. Sam Houston is in second place in the Southwest Division one loss behind Lamar and playing SFA currently in last place. ACU is tied with Sam Houston and faces Tarleton. A sweep would be great. Game one kicks off at 7 PM according to the Lamar web site.

Cards get another run in the top of the sixth. Bottom of the sixth and Douthit leaves the game with one out and the bases loaded. Cole comes into pitch. Cole's first pitch is a wild pitch to score one run and move the other two runners up. The UTRGV batter then flies out to left field but deep enough to score the tying run. Cole gets the third out but the game is tied going into the seventh. Edited by geezer

Lamar gets two runs in the top of the seventh to regain the lead, but are unable to get any more runs leaving the bases loaded. Score Lamar 4 - UTRGV 2. Cole gives up a two out walk but then the runner is caught stealing on a ball the Snell knocked down in front of himself, to end the inning. Another side note, Tarleton defeated ACU 9-7 to put Tarleton, ACU and Sam all at 4-3 in conference play after tonight's games. Edited by geezer

Cards get a run in the top of the ninth but fall short by a final of 5-2. Lamar had three errors which counted for two unearned runs. RGV had five doubles to no extra base hits for the Cards and the Cards just could not string the hits together when they needed them, leaving twelve runners on base. Series is tied at one a piece, Cards need to win tomorrow.

Cards got two runs in the top of the fifth but gave one back in the bottom and now in the bottom of the sixth have given up five runs so far with two out and the bases loaded. The Cards are going to need a big-time comeback with not too many chances to get it. Make those nine runs including a two our grand slam.
